Advanced Grant Writing Workshop
This course is designed to support students as they work to complete their training grant applications. At the time of entry into this course, students will have learned the basics of developing their research question into their specific aims in earlier grant writing courses. In this course, students complete the bulk of their writing and preparing all of the grant components so that the grant is ready for submission by the end of the term.
Specific aims should be completed before entering the course. This course will be most appropriate for students with a good start on most of the rest of their grant components as well. The course is best suited for students studying epidemiology, clinical research, public health, or research methodology, and it will also benefit medical, nursing, dental and other professional school students. Students are expected to work closely with their own advisors to ensure the rigor of their science.

Course content will be delivered via weekly interactive discussions. These will take place on Mondays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, April 3 to June 5.
Students will present their completed components, and the class will evaluate and discuss the components. Sample components and instructional information is provided to assist students in their preparation.

Student grades will be based on:
- Class participation (25%)
- Presentation of key components and moderation of discussion of components in class (50%)
- Final completed application (25%)
Course enrollment is very limited. Preference is given to students in the Global Health Science PhD Program, Epidemiology and Translational Science PhD Program, and the Training in Clinical Research Program.
